How to care for your candles

Did you know that there are steps to take, to care for candles and extend their life?

If not, read on and I will tell you all about it.

Candle care may seem like a tedious thing to do but, it makes all the difference when spending money on a candle that will either burn improperly, tunnel and die out fast or have a nice long life with you.

First things first, TRIM THE WICK!

Trim the candle wick 1/4 of an inch before each and every lighting.

This action will help to control the height of the flame making it safer for you, your home and your candle all while preventing black soot.

Next, LET IT BURN

Let the candle burn for 3 - 4 hours for the first time to avoid tunneling of the wax. (tunneling is when the wick burns down the center of the candle and does not have enough time to create a melt pool)

4 hour MAX burn-time

Do not let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time. If a candle is left to burn for more than 4 hours carbon will build up on the wick and the wick will begin to "mushroom" causing an unstable wick which could result in smoke and soot being released into the air.

Never leave a candle unattended around children or pets.

No explanation needed here.

Keep away from flammable materials

Such as but not limited to... curtains and furniture.

When candle is not in use- PUT A LID ON IT

Just to avoid dust or any other annoying things from getting on it.

Annndddd.... that's it!

Enjoy your candles and give them a chance at a full life ;)
